Okay, who missed the memo about nothing happening in town? Because this weekend we have way too much fun going on. Friday night brings us a match made in purgatory – Kaddy Wumpus and The Skunky Bunch at the Triangle. The Wine Walk downtown starts at Coffee House Cafe and there’s more late night mayhem at Westside Station with Just the Tip. And what are we going to choose Saturday? The infamous Gemini Party is celebrating over a decade of merriment at the Miller Ranch. Matty, Kid Espi and crew are taking over Coffee House with world-class hip hop. And the Cafe Noir Annex finally cleared the permitting process and will bust open the new digs with Bold Riley, Spiral and Gobel Warming. For the free speech-minded, the Oregon Freedom Festival goes on all day Saturday with Hollie Pollock closing.
Then Sunday, Norman entertains us with an outdoor concert at Mission Mill.
How can this be topped? With an all out visual assault by Oakland’s Can-Cannibals on Wednesday. The Space is rolling out the splatter mats for a once in a lifetime show with the queens of raunch burlesque and Squirmin Hermans, Potatoe Famine are adding to the fun.
Too wild? Then stop by ƒ/stop Fitzgerald’s for the pastie-making afterparty to catch the troupe in a more relaxed environment and pick up a few crafting tips.
The only downer this weekend is the news that The Space lost round one of their noise complaint appeal. Stay-tuned for the next step, because there will definitely be one.
