First meeting will be February 11th from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the Macelay Grange, 8312 Macleay Road. Call Randi at 503-873-586-6580 for information.
What’s a Common Security Club? A place to come together to grapple with our personal security in a rapidly changing world. To learn about the root causes of our economic and ecological challenges.
To explore ways to increase our personal/economic security through mutual aid and shared action. To build on what we have together — and strengthen the institutions that we all depend on.
In the process, make friends, find inspiration, have fun, and strengthen community.
There are three basic components:
LEARN TOGETHER: Through popular education tools, videos and shared readings, participants increase their understanding of the larger economic forces on our lives.
MUTUAL AID: Through stories, examples, web-based resources, a workbook and mutual support, participants take action for collective security.
SOCIAL ACTION: Many of our challenges won’t be solved through personal or local mutual aid efforts. They require us to work together to press for larger state, national and even global changes.
Please join us!

The Dusty 45s are thrilled to road trip to Oregon to kick off February right, playing two shows. Their first show will be in Salem on February 4th at Duffy’s Hangar at 8 pm. On February 5th, they’ll rock Duff’s Garage in Portland, starting at 9 pm.

We'd love to get the show(s) on your calendar!

The Oregon shows come only a month before the release of The Dusty 45s’ highly anticipated new studio album, Fortunate Man. The album contains a collection of original Dusty 45s material, including Walking in the Rain, Only Wanna Be With You, and the title track, all of which have been enthusiastically received at recent live shows. Fortunate Man will be released on March 27, 2010, and songs from the album will be previewed at the Oregon shows. They’re looking forward to performing the material to new audiences.

Both shows have a $10 cover charge.

The Dusty 45s formed in 1997, and have taken the music world by storm ever since. Billy Joe Huels (lead vocals, guitar, trumpet), Jerry Battista (lead guitar, vocals), Kelly Van Camp (drums, harmonica, vocals), and Jeff Gray (upright bass, vocals) have gained critical praise and delivered countless exciting live performances, wrapping up their high-energy shows with the infamous flaming trumpet. Founding member Huels has written five Dusty 45s albums, and continues to deliver the original music and unique sound that audiences have come to expect. With their history and talent, it’s no surprise The Dusty 45s were voted Best of Seattle by Seattle Weekly readers three years in a row, and play to packed houses everywhere they go.

Please contact Emily Robinson, Dusty 45s Publicist, at Emily@dusty45s.com with questions or to schedule interviews.
